Blank Canvas Collection #2: Release day at SCACD!!

Good morning crafty friends and welcome to our release day blog hop with Susana's Custom Art and Card Design!!

We are introducing you to a fantastic new collection of stamps! Here's a word from Susana about these fantastic new images:

Following on from the fantastic Blank Canvas Collection, we are excited to present the SCACD Blank Canvas Collection #2. Building on the original release (recently featured in Craft Stamper Magazine), this new collection will take you on further creative adventures as you mix and match the stamps and use a variety of techniques. Perfect for beginners and seasoned mixed media enthusiasts alike, these stamps will grace cards and papercrafting projects as beautifully as they will altered canvases and other mixed media projects.

There is a set of beautiful female figures called The Mixed Media Blank Canvas Collection #2. These gorgeous stamps are available as the entire set or as pairs. When purchasing the stamps as a complete set, you will also receive a bonus stamp. (I've used it in one of my cards today.) Also being released today are two sets of accessory stamps: Nature's Direction Set and Follow Your True Heart Set. Oh, and for all you die enthusiasts, Susana also has four new Dies by SCACD being released today!!

Our release day blog hop is full of inspiration from the SCACD design team and our lovely guest designers. If you've been following along the hop, you should have arrived here after visiting with one of talented guests, Kim Dellow. (The full hop list can be found on the Store Blog.)

I have two cards to share with you today. The first one features Solid Blank Canvas Flights of Botanica. I am completely smitten the the fairies in this release...such a beautiful and elegant silhouette. The border was created with one of new accessory stamps from the Follow Your True Heart Set. The paper is Bo Bunny Gabrielle. The flourishes were created with a Memory Box Die. I added some ribbon and topped it off with a Prima pin. The corners embellishments were cut with Classic Corner Dies by SCACD.

To create the image panel, I began by sponging various Distress Inks onto some smooth cardstock. After applying the inks randomly over the paper, I used a Mini Mister to spritz it generously with water and then dried it. The image stamp was then inked with two different Distress Inks, Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky. Before stamping the image, I lightly misted the stamp with water to blend and soften the inks. As mentioned before, the border was created with one of the stamps from the Follow Your True Heart Set by randomly stamping portions of the image in different colours of ink. The paper was again spritzed with water to soften the effect. Portions of the fairy image were painted over with a bit of matte medium and sprinkled with Glamour Dust, my absolute favourite glitter. :)

Up next is the gorgeous Solid Blank Woman of Essence. I used the same inking techniques as the previous card, but this time switched up the colour scheme. I cut the cage with Uncaged Bird Die by SCACD. The words nestled within the cage are all part of the fantastic accessory stamp you will receive as a free bonus when buying the Mixed Media Blank Canvas Collection #2. This is great little stamp with several words in different fonts. You can use the stamp as the cluster of words or cut up as I did here. Once again, I used the Classic Corner Dies by SCACD for the corner embellishments. The paper is from Authentique.

When you are done hopping, make sure to pop on over to SCACD for a little crafty shopping! You can find the entire release of stamps HERE. Don't forget to check out the brand new Dies by SCACD as well!! Our international friends will be able to purchase the dies and stamps at Quixotic Paperie.

It is now my pleasure to send you off to visit with one of our lovely guest designers, Rita!

Thanks for joining us today!!

Blessings,

Melanie
